Tubbies...help!!!!

I am a newbie when it comes to tubbies..........My dilemma is that I don't know what is a suitable relation between Rim width and Tyre size.

I have 22mm tubbies and want to purchase Planet-X aluminium tubular track rims with the following specs:

  • 24mm deep alloy rim
  • Rim Width: 24mm external, 19mm internal

I don't really understand why they give an ID and OD for this rim as the other Tubby rims give the height and total width only.                                                                                                                                                                       (I presume it is because the same rim is sold for Road use, which then has a unpainted breaking surface)

(cant get reviews or a profile picture on the net)

Does anybody have these wheels?

Am I just over cautious?

22mm will be fine, sometimes the indication on the tubbie and the actual width are different

I used 19mm on the planet x carbon rims, got some nice Conti's that inflate to 220psi !!!! rolled like silk on the wooden indoor track, a bit hard for outdoor concrete
