Thanks, have ridden Karkloof a few times and have always loved it. Am working in Pmb and Pinetown, hence the keenness to explore the other trails. Had a look at the Virginia farm website as well, but just looks too far out for an early morning or late afternoon ride.

Will certainly try and bang out a couple of Karkloof rides at least.

Just remember that you have to book with Virginia to ride there.

What a crap week's riding. Only managed 14k's at Karkloof on Tuesday due to a late started. Must have crashed, without exaggeration, 10 times on sections of the 30k route that I have done many times before. Couldn't stay on.

Stopped at Giba yesterday afternoon and did the 17k route. Thought it might be a lekker warmup for a proper Karkloof ride this morning. Some serious uphills there. No wonder you Durban boys climb hills like you do if that's where you train. Anyway, managed to crash again at least 7 or 8 times. Three over the bars with the third resulting in lots of blood and mess and pain. For some reason I couldn't stay on the bike this week. Possibly had something to do with my front tyre being quite soft as an experiment.

Anyway, a couple of stitches and some painkillers later, on reflection, that Giba is a lekker lekker spot and I can't wait to try it again.

Sorry to hear about the falls.. sometimes it goes like that.

I love Giba.. whenever we visit the in laws in kloof we spend as much time riding giba as we possibly can.

100 %. Karkloof rocks

I believe so, but I've never ridden there.. maybe next time we go down I'll make the time to get there.. giba is just so easy to get to.. we ride our bikes there from the in laws.

Heck, certainly a place to learn to ride switchbacks, but typical for Durban, lekker people and a great atmosphere
