Dazshell Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Anyone got any ideas on a quick-fix for my front light. One of those LED ones with external rechargeable batteries. It charges 100%, then when I plug the battery in sometimes it works and sometimes not. I have checked and replaced the connecting plugs. When it does work, it turns itself off after a few minutes. It has 3 modes, bright, dim, strobe. When it works, all 3 work fine.
usxorf Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Short in the wiring, from my experience. Try wiggling along the length to guess where it is. Chop and solder.
Long Wheel Base Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Either a break in the wire as mentioned above, or a dry joint on the circuit. If you open it up be very careful not to touch any of the IC's as they are VERY sensitive to static and our fingers have enough to pop it.
David Marshall Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Mine gave me some grief. Had to resolder a connection in the battery. If you can borrow another battery and try to isolate the fault to the light or battery.
