Saddle Rebuilt

Morning.

I have an old 1960's Raleigh leather saddle, looks a lot like Brooks, that I would like to have rebuilt/refurbished.

Heard there was someone in Silverton, Pretoria who does this.

Anyone knows who/ where I can find him, or who else does this kind of thing?

Thanks

Jared Mahaffey from BMC in Salt River, Cape Town, did this for me. It was for a total restoration of a 1930s bike. He took the leather part of another broken old saddle and transferred it to the metal part of my old one after that was stripped and re-sprayed, effectively making one saddle out of 2 old ones. You can see that the copper rivets holding it together are all brand new. Sorry, he is so far away from you.

That looks awesome, exactly what I have in mind. The leather on my Raleigh saddle is still very good, but the metal body is shot. I have another old 1950's saddle- Cycle-something where the leather is gone but the metal is still good...

Thanks guys for the help. Found the guy in Silverton- he actually works mostly on Harley saddles and bags- hopefully I can get there this weekend and check it out.

Else I'll keep Jared in mind.

Thanks again
