Patchelicious Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Hi, What is a good wider tyre that can will work in the sand? Like the Tuli. I have contemplated buying fatty for the event, but seeing some of the guys in the group, that will be a mistake. So what tyres do you recommend, and what pressures can I drop them too at 75kg rider weight? Maybe something slightly wider than than the 2.2 Fast tracks I have now?
Odinson Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 WTB Trailblazer 27.5X2.8. It's obviously a 650B option that needs to be run on a wide rim. Edit: You could possibly run these tyres in a 29er frame, if you have a 650B wheelset and there is sufficient clearance at the rear. Alternatively, also look at 2.4 tyres on wide rims, that will increase the contact patch. There should also be a few 3.0" options. Local availability might be the problem.
