I dont know the new easton hubs (R4, if i remember correcly) but my Zipp 404 hubs used to come loose every few months. Also that little carbon seal on the zipps isnt the best at keeping water and grime out. If it was my money it would be a hard decision between the two, especially if i was buying new. I would probably go for the Zipps, just because they always seem to have a better re-sale value. I bought and sold my 404's here on the hub after 12 months without loosing anything on them. Keep looking here on the classifieds, because every month there are some deep sections for sale, and sometimes you can snap up a bargain.

Craven Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 The Easton Tempest 2 rims were Zipp 404 without the dimples.Easton brought out a completly different wheel with their EC90's which I find to be a much nicer wheel.Being an 'upgrade' from the 404 rim it should actually be better. Right!?
