Wesbank manners

The warmer weather brings out the bugs and the hibernating cyclists.

Wesbank raceway is getting crowded again esp. on a Thurs. night.

There's a lot of social riders as well as the Groovy Bunch (GB) that goes 40-50kph.

There is need for give and take which is not served by GB members shouting repeatedly from a distance for less groovy riders to get out of their way.

Much better to have a quiet word as you're passing, it keeps the atmosphere lighter.

It may be that some nights it's better not to ride in a big fast bunch on a crowded track, so bring your grandpa's machine and train on that to get a workout.

Kyalami is the same... as I was riding past a lady last night she started moving across to the right (into me) while looking to the left Confused

The night before it was a lady on a mountain bike, moving to the right of the track from the far left, braking as she went.. don't know if she was planning on stopping or what.  Angry

We saw Scotty there on Wednesday night for the beginners clinic LOL   MCC have got people doing bike setups & some cyclists motivating people riding up the mineshaft... Wednesday was my recovery day & I've got this oke behind me going "come on, you can do it"... AAAAGGGGHHHH Dead

I have never encountered a problem with the faster batches shouting, but the protocol is that slower riders should ride on the outside. I have found Mon to be the quietest with Tues being the busiest.

Sure, and people need to be reminded of this nicely.

The loud hailer instruction for the poor folk on the starting straight last night was "keep left!!"- which is actually the inside.  Confusing for them.
