Edvald Boasson Hagen would finish 5th in the mass sprint of the 5th Tour de France stage. Andre Greipel (Lotto-Soudal) would take his 2nd win of the Tour, just ahead of Peter Sagan (Tinkoff-Saxo) and Mark Cavendish (Etixx-Quickstep).

Stiff sh&t cut off right by the line... Great ride none the less.

 

 

Agreed! He had a top 3 chance only to be repeatedly herded into the barriers. Sprinting is a tough game!

I feel mtn are going to the front from too far out and then sit with no riders left to take him to the line, he clearly is in great form and with a proper lead out train he can do even better but they leave him with too much to do too far out . he should position himself off another team as the other riders sometimes do.
