Tubeless Tyre Warps

Ai jai jai, I forgot that this is the hub, where we do not discuss cycling and rather want to fight.

I did not take it to the shop to not buy a new tyre, I took it in to fix it no matter what the cost.

Someone else might probably post "Bike shop put rider's life in danger" and then accept the backlash of that post.

Incidentally. ....... what pressures do you run? Is it front or rear? These answers will determine the risk you are prepared to take. The tyre may very well hold it's integrity for years. But it may not. Just to remind you that these are great tyres, that last very long, and most importantly, they cost under R500.

There isn't much in there I can actually understand but the line in bold really does confuse me.

So you didn't take it to the shop, when you didn't go there it was definitely not to buy a tyre or possibly to not not buy one and that you would rather fix the tyre even if it cost more than a new one and no matter what the risk. Probably...

Seriously though I had the same problem with a Nobby Nic and thought it would be okay, it wasn't and when it let go it was explosive. No warning just a complete failure where I was lucky to be on relatively smooth flat ground at the time. If it had been in a fast or rough section I would have been in big trouble.

I felt I had to give another update and not run away from the issue.

So I went for 2 rides with the "warped" tire (Spez Fast Track)  It did fine, only about 80km's, but the guys behind me got a little sea sick from watching it, and also, you could actually feel it when going faster.

I decided to not fight The Hub advice at took it in for a new tire.  Watched how they fitted the tire to see how it is done, once done, spinned the wheel, still same thing.

So as it turns out, the wheel does have a little buckle.  With nipples starting to split, I asked for a wheel rebuild.

Hopefully that will solve the problem.

Feck your rim must be properly buckled for it to make it look like the tyre is bulging. Well glad you've solved it, as a consolation hopefully at least the original tyre might turn out to not be wrecked.
