We are looking for a dozen more or less dim-witted suckers for punishment, like ourselves, to join us on a MTB fund-raising event in Gamkaskloof ("Die Hel"), over the weekend of 25-28 September.

 

Based on the concept of Everesting, we challenge you to ride - individually or in relay teams - repeats of the "Elandspas", one of the most remote and picturesque gravel passes in South Africa, until the total altitude gained equals the height of an iconic mountain.

 

To reach the height of Table Mountain (1,182m) for example, you'll ride the pass 3 times. To reach Everest (8.848m), you, or your team, will have to ride it 19 times.

 

Your entry fee of R2,100 per person is payable to the Prescient Foundation, a charity focused on improving learning environments in schools throughout South Africa, and will be used for providing:

3 nights camping in CapeNature's site at the bottom of the pass

Breakfast on Saturday, Sunday, Monday

Supper on Friday, Saturday, Sunday

If you raise R8848 or more via sponsorship we will refund you the initial entry fee. The Prescient Foundation will also provide tax certificates for all sponsorships.
