I need some suggestions on entry / Exit points to Mellvile koppies from Albertsfarm.

Following a route from sunning hill, to delta to dam, to alberts....... then want to get onto Mevile koppies, and exit at the seminary.

I know JUMA is on and doing a part of it but I need to best option for weekend rides ( with mates)

Have a look at this route:

Its basically the JUMA route from last year. Starts off a bit dodgy in Albertville, but once you're over the dump next to Esparanza primary and into the koppies its not too bad. One of my favourite parts of the "greater spruit area."

It ends up joining Beyers Naude at Judith road.

I Suggest you stay away from that area of the Melville koppies, it is lank dangerous unless you in a large group. plenty of armed robberies.

From Alberts Farm, turn right up TWIST RD... and the very top you will see a small track next to an embankment that leads into Melville Koppies. Follow that trail toward the flats, and then where is goes diagonally left, take that split (its the one that keeps climbing to the top of the hill). There is really only one major pathway here. It will then run parrallel to the flat, continuing upward until you reach the plateau at the top. The trail then looks like a jeep track and runs along the top fopr aprox 1km. (goes down a dip and then a short climb up again). You will pass a circular concrete area. Go another 200m and you will see it starts to drop toward Bayers Naude. Be careful here as it gets technical. Follow the track that leads to the left and continue downward, over the rock speed bumps to the gate on beyers Naude.

Bikes aren't allowed in the Koppies unfortunately... used to be part of our spruit loop long ago.

And it's really not safe, even if three of you

And if you ignore the signs etc and still ride - beware Wendy  :whistling:

Muggings with guns for extra excitement.

Local CSS, CPF and SAPS reports indicate that the Koppies Gang has been apprehended.

No recent bad news.
