DVO Diamond or RS Pike

So its that time again... New build time.

I'm considering one of these forks for my new build, 150mm.

Now we all know by now that the Pike talks for itself and has proven itself in every way! So easy choice is to get a Pike and get it done...

But

What about the DVO Diamond?? Does anyone have some experience with one, has one on his ride? The reviews are good and the guys behind it seem to have though it through and built it tough, which I'm a fan of. The detail on the dials, adjustment setting etc looks great and no one can compain the fork is hot. SA support sound good and behind it so servicing should be sorted.

So what would you get? Would appreciate some feedback for the guys in the know...

Cheers

Forget about the 'safe' option. Take the plunge and turn a few heads. If I was in your position I'd go for the more imaginative choice. Diamond FTW.

Exactly what I'm thinking at the moment.. And usually do when building but I just want that little bit of advice... Forks are expensive and can make or break a ride.

Would you go Black or Green? Frame I'm getting is stealth black

Entirely up to you. Depends on whats on the bike too. Those green lowers are flash. If you can source a bit more green on the bike to complement it. Just don't overgreen.

I would do one of two things.

Green bar and Green NW chainring

or

Green stem, Grips and Pedals.

Or just go black. Especially, if there's a variation of black.

Why am I getting excited over your build.

Go DVO

I have only read good reviews about them...dont know servicing side..

as for colour..

I don't know , stealth black with green handlebar black stem and grips and green fork  or green stem, green grips and black bar green fork could  pop nicely.... what frame you going to use?

Edit: The Black on black will be to safe option ..and you dont want to be safe...

The black fork with your stealth black Stumpy frame and with the Renthal gold touches will look amazeballs!

I am also stoked to see the final product.........and take it for a spin!

I've fallen into the big S trap... I'm getting a Stumpy EVO carbon frame. Stealth black. I cant go green bars as I love my Renthals to much!! So if I bring the green in it will have to be in the wheels...

Had a look at the Renthals....green is out...go black dvo..but get some more gold in it to highlight the bars...maybe gold dvo decals on fork gould bling it up...but less is more

Howzit,

Yeah a Diamond replaced my Pike. Not that there was anything wrong with it! It has been brilliant and I can only say that it has been rock solid. Over the last year or so I've ridden several Pikes in all sorts of travel modes on all sorts of bikes and they've always been great. They do need some token love to get rid of some dive, but it's a quick and easy job.

So the diamond:

First, can obviously not comment on it's long term durability yet as it's only been on my bike for about a month. Not a lot of long terms reviews out just yet, either. BUT it has been great out on the trails. There are a LOT of external settings that need tinkering with. On my first ride I was surprised by just how plush it was even though I wasn't close to getting full travel. Since then I've managed to get closer to getting it dialed and am loving it in / over / through everything.

In terms of performance you won't regret getting the DVO. It is right up there with the Pikes and Fox Factory 34.
