Hi guys

So me and the wife started riding last year. I dislocated my knee just before the Karoo to Coast and she did some Cadence (Cape Town cycling specific training) so at the moment she's WAY more fit than I am.

She's doing quite well too, K2C just over 6 hours on a 14kg dual sus trail bike (and she's 62kgs).

Anyway, she bought herself a new road bike which is great, but I felt her wheels are quite heavy. Googled it and they're 1940 grams, which is heavy for a MTB, so I guess it's ridiculous for a road bike.

The wheelset has done 50m in total so it's really brand new, but I'm considering buying her an okay set for this year (as next year she may have a "belly")..

So would you guys recommend this Edge Design Wheelset at 1490g @ R3k almost over her unused Axis 1.0 wheelset @ 1940 grams?

PS - We're noobs but I'd like her to have a good road-year on her new bike before she gets pregnant..

So: 1 Year worth of riding.. New bike but 1940g wheelset, what would you do..

And should I buy her a new wheelset, how much do I sell that Axis 1.0 wheelset for? I see it has a ridier limit of 108kgs, so pretty okay?

Have heard he edge design wheels are pretty decent. I think she will certainly feel the difference.the axis wheels aren't worth much though, and even though they lightly used , they are still second hand. But someone might pick them up as a training set. All in all I would say for the 2800 ish those wheels will cost you, I would go for it.
