Looks like there will be a few decent climbs. On the bike as well as the run. Which event are you doing? I am doing the Standard 10, 40, 5.

Cargyrl Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 The sprint race, the traffic was not nice at all. Quite hectic and very hot. Next time I will train and be fitter and better. My better half did very well in the sprint.

I thought it was really well organized. The traffic was hectic on the bike course but well managed by JMPD. Traffic in and out of the venue was a pleasure. A few cycling organizers should take note, that us how a event is organized.
dracs Posted October 26, 2015 Author Posted October 26, 2015 Did the standard, and from what I personally saw the marshals (and JMPD) did an excellent job controlling the traffic, BUT I also saw drivers getting irate and the thought crossed my mind that someone at some point is going to take a chance and dart across or in front of a cyclist. It was a little scary speeding down the hill crossing Rivonia - trusting that the cars will indeed be stopped. Not convinced Sandton will ever be suitable for racing bicycles without total road closure. Remember the tour of SA a few years ago...?
