Good question! My opinion, the Sky team is just too strong with many top riders and specific training and one clear goal. And also, I do think Froome is the best-prepared specifically fir the Tour and combined with his ability and team makes him the strongest.

 

It's a vague answer, but will think and research more after work. Enjoy the TT!

I suspect a very large portion if this is having team support in terms of drinks/eats etc. Needing to go back to a car at threshold would be a disaster if there's no support. The stability of tempo riding is one thing but even Froomey can't accelerate more than a few times. If a few teams got together and launched continuous attacks, Sky would fail. But I just don't think they can cos each of them isn't as good as the two or three top Sky lads.
