Just converted my WTB non-UST, wire bead tyre on a WTB Speed Disc rim to tubeless...inflated really quickly with out any hassels at my local Sasol!!

Actually quite impressed...

True test will be on the trails...lets see how it works out...

Used Stans standard conversion kit...

Hit the spruit this morning...and honestly I see no difference between riding with tubes or going tubeless...

I think the only advantage to this would be to avoid having to fix your punctures each time on tube setup...

Possibly running @ a lower air pressure - but the rolling resistance is badly affected...

no difference between tubes and tubeless? oh k... on what basis do u make that assertion?

No difference in ride, same traction, same everything actually...

Maybe I was expecting too much based on all the chitter on the forums around how great tubeless really are...

Yeah for punctures - awesome...

What was the best most impressive thing that tubeless did for you Capricorn? Besides the obvious puncture issue...

Maybe you can help me see the light...

You wont get snakebites either, which you should be getting on tubes, otherwise you are pumping your tyres way too hard IMO.

Schwalbe did a test - softer tyre conformed to the ground better and was faster than a hard tyre ie. less rolling resistance.

So you should have a softer tyre with more grip and a comfier ride

I would assume that conforming to the ground would mean more resistance...since more surface area of the tyre is actually in contact?

A more comfortable ride - yeah that would make sense...

Need to possibly lower my pressure and give it another bash...will drop to 1.8bar and see what happens...

Definitely

Ok maybe wrong wording - maybe more resistance but its definitely faster - the tyre grips and the bike isn't pin-balled around by all the obstacles so rolls faster as it goes over them. have a look on the schwalbe site there should be a pdf test you can download
