I'll be there again. "raptor-22" You will be surprised, the big wheels roll over the rocks a bit better, especially when done at speed. But lets not turn this into a wheel debate.

Eselfontein is awesome. Good advice Deon, take it easy for the first half.

Great race again this year! The bit of rain firmed up the sandy section at the beginning to make it even more enjoyable. And going through that forest section really puts a smile on my face.

The leopard in the bushes was a sure way to get the heart rate up, I almost shat myself! Hope the two guys hiding in the bushes had a good laugh. Pity there wasn't a camera there to catch people's reactions.

The thing I really like about this race is that with so much singletrack, you can make up meaningful time in the more technical sections over those who may be a bit fitter/stronger. I must have passed the same two guys at least five times during the race as they would catch me on the climbs and then very kindly moved aside when I caught them on the twisty bits.

Glad you enjoyed it wolver, mostly positive feed back from everyone.... you will get the odd guy who complains mainly more their own fault missing a marker. Looks like taking the reverse part of the dam out was good idea. I know about that leopard (I have been caught before) but still had a few choice words when I went past. Think next time we must put a gopro there.

I really enjoyed it too.

Positive suggestions from my side, try and not let the Long and middle distances collide, maybe it was because we started a bit later than the scheduled start.

I was accused by a fellow rider of making her fall, "want ek ry so op n mens".  So that piece of track was a bit of a downer with a lot of congestion.

Maybe I was simply too slow on my singlespeed to get ahead of the next field. I spoke afterwards to a friend who finished a couple of minutes in front of me and he did not experience any congestion.

It was a big let down not to have Darling Brew there but I believe they dropped you - poor show on their behalf!!

Well done to all involved it is a proper event and I enjoyed it tremendously, especially the Brandy and Coke at the final waterpoint!

On the congestion side the problem was that the Enduro guys took a bit to much time to get moving.  I think next year if they are there we will have to tell them that they have to be gone before 7h15.  A few of them were still milling around after they were told to move out so the 65km only left at about 7h45.
