Cape Town Boxing Day Ride

I was wondering if there is a Cape Town boxing day road ride in the morning like they do in Durban?  I will be in CT on vacation between Christmas and New Years and am taking my bike.  I would love to throw in a few road rides while my wife and kids are sleeping in.

I heard there is a "bike lane" on a western route that goes from the city centre towards Milnerton/Blouberg.  Is that a good route to take?  Anyone have more details on this route?

I am staying in Newlands so will do the Argus route around the penninsula and back.  Can you ride on the M3 from Edinburgh Drive to Muizenberg in the yellow lane or is that only for the Argus?  Any other good routes to take in CT or group rides during the 26-31 Dec?  Is there a safe route one can ride aline from CT to Stellenbosch/Paarl/Franshoek?

There's usually someone local in CT who posts up a ride of sorts for the day, closer to the time. (Unless this thread will become that...)

M3 is only for Argus race day. 2 other options for getting to Muizenburg without being on the highway. Spaanschemat and Main Roads, with the former the far more popular option for local cyclists. Plenty of people riding the route around that time and most of the Southern Suburb crew seem to leave from either the Constantia Virgin Active or Constantia Village Mall.

So many cycling options from Newlands! Loads of little gem areas you can cycle loops without too much traffic! If I'm not up country during that time with family I'll be around and putting in plenty of rides! You're welcome to join me if this is the case.
