Ritchey Seat post

I recently purchased a 2015 Scott Spark RC 900 second hand with 600km on. It came with a Ritchey WCS EVO Carbon saddle and seat post.

The seat is great and rides comfortably, only problem is that I cant tighten it properly. The goes up and down all the time which irritates the living crap out of me.

I took it to my LBS, but they cleaned it and told me it should be fine...this was however not the case. Any help would be appreciated.

So is it the seatpost that is slipping?

Carbon post in a carbon frame will slip like mad unless you use carbon assembly paste on it. Also dont get tempted to overtighten, that will result in tears.

That looks very similar to an i-beam type setup, if Im looking at the right saddle. If the saddle is slipping then you might need to apply assembly paste to the rails where it meets the post.

Yes the saddle is slipping and its is indeed the I-beam saddle and seat post. Have not tried the carbon paste yet. Will give it a go see if it works

And make sure you use a proper torque wrench - a good one
