Good news... weather looks good for the weekend, routes are clear and we are good to go

Bad news ... Lions River Craft Beer cant attend :( The Farmers Market needs to have a licence to sell from their premises and unfortunately this is still in process. We are however trying to come up with plan B (Plan Beer )

We also noticing that some sneak lines are being formed... guys... please don't do this !! Stay in the course! Not only are you cheating but you also ruining the trails!

It is so massively disappointing. Went out yesterday and had to tape closed 16 cheat lines on Stage 2 alone!!! Also a tree that formed part of a trail had been broken out of the way.

It's pretty obvious where the trail goes. It's not a case of people being unsure, it is just flat our cheating.

Seems like the generalization is now for roadies and XC MTBrs to be body dopers, CX riders to be bike dopers and enduro riders to be track dopers.

Maybe there's a Frenchman at large.

Huge thanks to Kath and Super_mil for the help in closing these cheat lines. No sympathy with the riders who are doing this... I will DQ you. Try me.

Re-enter at point of exit?

How many riders and have you decided the time limits?

Put some boulders there so those bastards can't go there, sorry this pisses me off when these dumbasses do this.#trailcheats

Unfortunately a solution is to do something like placing boulders in the way, but this requires a fair amount of manpower to do and probably won't make any friends at Sappi when it comes time to harvest.

Another way is to not release the routes beforehand, which then wouldn't give these guys time to work out the shortcuts. This I think would be sad, as people like myself who are new to Enduro have had the chance to pre-ride the routes and get comfortable before the weekend. For me it's not about placing, more about getting through the day and having fun.

I still believe that we should ride it blind but some complain that it's not right to do it this way but you might avoid a lot of these things happening.

Hey Robbow I think if you're generally pushing a corner hard and you run wide and accidentally take a line around a tree you will not make time so it's all good in my opinion. You very rarely make time when you're out of control...

The problem we have is that guys are actively riding these cheat lines and practicing them to gain an unfair advantage over other competitors. These lines were not here 2 weeks ago.

Sadly there are not a lot of boulders around in this particular area and all the wood on the ground is so rotten that it just breaks apart if you try to move it to the corner. BUT why should we be wasting our time doing this when people should just be riding the trail that is already there.

Riding stages blind would be the ideal but it is sadly just a pipe dream and not possible unless you have brand new trails in a brand new secret location.

Land mines..... and not the bomb type hahaha... wish we can have big holes of **** (covered with sticks etc) so if guys cheated they would land in *** literary

If you out of control then there is some discretion... but emphasis is on you to prove it. I wont entertain any BS.

Yes..enter at same point of exit

Cut off times can only be decided on the day as it depends on late entries

Exactly right Robbo. The principle of releasing the routes beforehand was to encourage participation and make rider comfortable with the route. Even if I had kept the routes "secret" its difficult as we cant wait till the day before that race to mark the routes... so as soon as they marked its obvious where they go.

Purposefully placing obstacles in the way also defeats the ethos of honest riding.. although its tempting to make the cheater suffer!

As Super_mil says... riding it blind is the ideal

That wasn't the principle of this particular Enduro though. We wanted to encourage participation both from a competitive rider perspective and fun rider perspective. Too much to ask... I didnt think so.. but I may just have been proved wrong..

If the competitive rider cant abide by simple rules and character then they dont deserve to be seen as riders to admire to. Shame on them. Lead by example or dont claim you are all that.
