YES !!! Anybody that wants to put a 32/anything on a road bike needs to go and get burn his Gr2 school certificate

I rode the Argus 32/11 in 3:10...... So it isnt completely impossible, just not common.

Personal preferance,I wouldnt be able to keep up that cadence.In the words of another hubber(cant remember who),"I would rather die on the climbs than get dropped on the flats".

 

I'll probably go for a 34/36 to 11/12 on my roadbike build.

Anywhere around 3 to 1 ratio on the road bike will still get you over all the climbs with a bit of shuffling and allow you some (not a lot) speed on the flats.

 

36/12 is exactly the same as 48/16 or 54/18. Same cadence, same power..... You just don't have to have that massive wheel attached to your cranks
