Arica’s first ever UCI World Tour team, Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka, will use the full range of HIGH5’s innovative products, which have been scientifically tested and proven to improve performance.

After three successful years in the Pro Continental ranks, the team is starting its first ever season in cycling’s top ranks to cement its place as one of the top teams in world cycling. Last year the team, fuelled by HIGH5, made history as the first African registered cycling team to compete in the Tour de France, which included Steve Cumming’s memorable win on Mandela Day.

Steve Cummings, 2015 Tour de France stage winner, said, “I am really happy to hear we will be continuing our partnership with HIGH5. For me the ZERO tabs in my bottle work a treat and the SportsBar Caramel is really delicious, these two products will keep my happy on the bike this year for sure.“

Douglas Ryder, Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka principal, said, “The World Tour is a big step up from being a Pro Continental Team so to continue with tried and tested products that fuelled our riders in 2015 is a big bonus for the team. HIGH5 Sports Nutrition is based on science and trusted by our athletes which is essential for success in a high performing race team like Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka.”

Wendy Lee, HIGH5 General Manager, said, “We are thrilled to continue our relationship in supporting Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka in realising their goals. By continuing to use the full range of products we are confident that the team will achieve another year of cycling success. We also aim to make an impact by working with the Qhubeka charity to support its #BicylesChangesLives campaign and deliver more bicycles to people across Africa helping to advance health and opportunity.”

Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka will not only represent Africa in the Tour de France but will also ride to fund 5.000 bicycles for Qhubeka through BicyclesChangeLives.org. As World Bicycle Relief’s programme in South Africa, Qhubeka is dedicated to advancing education, health and economic opportunities by providing simple, sustainable transportation through bicycles. HIGH5 will supply each bicycle recipient with a water bottle and it’s ZERO electrolyte and magnesium sports drink.

“Bicycles are a cost efficient and effective way of addressing one of Africa’s great challenges – mobility,”says Sarah Phaweni, Qhubeka Executive Director. “A bicycle can change that, and we are excited to partner with HIGH5 and cycling fans around the world to fund bicycles for people whose lives can be changed with simple, sustainable transportation.”
