NW ring round or oval?

Hey guys,

 

Need to buy a new NW ring for my bike 1x10 11-42 and was doing some reading and saw that there seems to be some benefit to going oval. I am currently riding 36t round.

 

My question is, is anyone or has anyone ridden oval chain ring before? Did you change from round to oval or did you change back to round? What was the experience like?

 

Would like to know from guys that are ridding or ridden with them before I buy. Thanks in advance!

I got an Absolute Black Oval on my XX1.

 

Felt a little weird at first (10 min) but soon felt "normal". It certainly has not made my climbing worse. Always a weak point for me at 95kg.

I feel like I'm doing my best climbing at the moment.

 

Will be going Oval on my other bikes too.... there has certainly been some improvement for me....
