ja the sprint swim was also longer, was supposed to be 600m, but I recorded 826m.  I really struggled, and I was also one of the lucky bastards without a wetsuit!

The swim was a bit longer than I expected, 2.4km? I found the cycle easy but the run brutal... I almost died on that last 21kms of twists and turns. All in all, a great day out, will definitely be back next year.

Long swim!! Were the buoys wrong or you just drifted and zig-zagged?

 

That run is never easy as is not only the twists and turns, but the short sharp ups and downs.

I think the buoys were wrong, we all recorded 2.3 to 2.4kms on the swim.

ye I don't think I zig-zagged to much on the swim.  think the buoys were slightly misplaced.  And the run is definitely more challenging with the small sharp turns and ups and downs.  It was also really different doing my first non-pool swim, though I might not make it at certain stages.  Luckily had a good cycle to make up some positions.  Overall a great event and as my first attempt at tri, I am really impressed and will be back for more!!!
