Scott CR1 2014 model, need advice

I'm considering buying a road bike and can get a Scott CR1 2014 model carbon frame brand new for R14500 , you view if the bike and the price? I'm getting a XL frame for me as I'm on the limit for a large

I can't comment on the price however I must say that due to the depreciation of the rand 2016 Scott cr1 10 models sell for 31k thru Jowetts.

 

I'm not sure how tall you are but I'm 1.85 and I ride a large Scott foil10, my first bike was also an XL and I found it to be uncomfortably big. The large for me is perfect, and I'm well proportioned ito torso vs legs length.

CR1's are good value.

Price is largely dependent on the groupset/wheels and finishing.

Being on the limit of size can make choice difficult - both will probably fit but you'll only know which is right with time in the saddle.

One rule I have learnt through hard lessons is DO NOT BUY a bike unless you are 100% sure it is the right size!

Considering the cheapest carbon framed road bike is well into the 20 thousands nowadays, I would say R14500 is a bargain. I bet it wasn't even that cheap in 2014.

 

I would buy it, it's unlikely you'll find a bike with Scott's quality, at that price anytime soon
