Pretoria East Shops & Tech Service Experience

Recommended Posts

Who do you recommend in Pretoria for tech stuff like suspension service, brake rebuilds and wheel truing? What would pricing generally run for these services?

+1 on HotSpots, Neil and his crew are machines, and always willing to help a guy out.

I'm a roadie, but I service my bikes at Hot Spot as well.

as said above the staff are always willing to help and are friendly. Never had problems with a service.

Prices are also reasonable.

Just for the record but I wanted to use Spokeworks for a front suspension service and they told me they no longer service suspensions.

Took it Hotspot.

I've had very bad experiences with Hot Spot. Bought my first three bikes there back in the day and was an avid supporter, but their services let me down just too many times in big ways. So, if you do go there, just keep that in mind.

I now use Conrad from www.mybicyclemechanic.co.za.

Most mechanics can do minor services (sleeves, etc.) on shocks but if you need major work done I'd suggest getting the specialists involved. Many regard Stoke Suspension Works as the leaders in SA. They're based in Cape Town though. Many LBS' send to them anyway.
