using a cell phone for tracking while cycling

so used the life 360 app for the last week.

 

The short version. It was terrible! The wifes phone showed me stuck in one location for over 4 hours even though I was home. And there was plenty of cell phone coverage as I kept in contact with the Mrs as I rode along just to make sure the app worked.

 

So it looks like I will be going with the more expensive option.

Try one of these, GPS watch. Can make and receive calls. Also shows GPS location. I have not used this one, but another similar product. It works OK, battery life about 10 hours.
