I lost my back light 2 weeks ago at sun coast just before a ride...i must have bumped it and it fell off...someone scored big time :(

this light works like a charm...but it cost R545 to replace....so i started looking for a cheaper one....any advice?

I need a light which can last for a about 4 hours (flashing) and must be rechargeable.

I want to find a small light which i can fit on the back of my helmet (red flasher)

I also want to fit a spare front light which doesnt have to be 1000 lux...just bright enough to warn motorist and maybe just bright enough to see potholes if my big light battery goes flat.

Ahh that sucks, I'm pretty sure it said add to cart when i posted the link. Maybe someone of the guys saw the deal and bought a few for themselves.

Can buy a decent light with bracket off eBay for 1 dollar (about R 15), includes postage. Batteries from Toy R Us are R 100 for 20 AAA batteries. Cheapest option I can think of. The batteries last ages, so rechargeable shouldn't really be an issue.

went shopping today and bought what i thought would be ideal for my application...will post pics when i get a chance...just need to find a small light for the helmet then i am sorted.

took lumen...run time and feel of the light into account when selecting the lights.

There are many options out there...but not too many which out do this tail light...what i like about it..

good solid feel about it...

Battery level indicator...

Bright enough...

Waterproof...

No cables...

Up to 11 hr run time...[emoji1360] nothing worse than you light going off while out on the road...

Only down side...my fault...make sure the light is secured properly...and the rubber support is hooked into place.

Looked at the ryder light...what i liked about it was the 180 degree visibility...but the strap and the plastic feel put me off...

decided to take this one...

The price was right...cheaper than the ryder one...under R200.

Battery level indicator

Really light so i can use it as a backup. Light or clip it on my helmet.

The strap has a good thick solid feel.

Bright enough.

Rechargeable.

Just the rubber flap for usb port looks like its not gona last

The front light required a bit more consideration...the lumen is import...i have a really bright light with a battery pack...however i want this light as a backup for my night rides and to use for those early morning rides just to get through until it gets light enough...while it is dark to give enough light to see potholes and not just for motorist visibility...then i dont need to take the mother bright light with the battery pack for the morning rides...

early morning rides are normally with a group...evening rides are normally solo.

What i like about this light...

Compact...but bright enough.

Built in battery.

No cable...built in usb to charge.

Rubber strap and you can turn the light 360 while strapped.

Good ip rating.

Bit pricey.
