Garmin Edge 500 Elevation Reference Points

Just looking to set these - I assume you need to use points where your gps is normally switched on? How do you find accurate elevation info for an area?

You need to find out where the trig beacons are in your area and go visit them.

 

You then set up the reference look point by manual entry when you are next to the beacon.
