Howsit,

So doing 3 towers with a few friends, all of us been out of it for a year or so, started training a few weeks ago.

Really thought id find a thread or event page on the forum...but nothing

So who's doing it? how's the training going...why so quiet?

Want to do dullstroom race for some training...see there's also no action on that thread

This is a great race to do. no 3 for me this year.

plenty single track, seriaaaas plenty. You will have to climb to get to them but it is worth it.

Take plenty money as the will be craft beer on tap.

For training you should do plenty of climbing, this is not a flat race.

Doing my 5th this year

Awesome event .... good value as it is actually "" all inclusive "" after arrival

Very good vibe

Pure MTB trails ... climbs / rocks / tunnels / blood / river crossings / hike a bike / afka&* / rugby / lots of food / swimming / mountain views / good goody bags / good 4x4 medical care / well marked routes / cheap camping for the family

I was really disappointed this year - doing the GR300 in Knysna

The GR300 is trailing the 3T in almost all aspects

First one for me.

Training has been non existent.

My wife even arranged a new partner for me, because she does not want to ride with my slow ass or listen to my complaining about all the climbing....the joys...

at least our marriage will be intact after the event.

Will be my first stage race. Did the ultra at Dullstroom in preparation, and fitness seems to be ok. Will have to make the most of the next week and a half and then taper.

Lots of climbing. Take a spare set of legs.

Hecked the route profiles and the only thing that worries me seems to be day2.

Will have to take it easy on day one in order for there to be some semblance of legs left for day 2.

Nervously looking forward to it. Have not done a 3day event in a very long time.

Wow. What an event!!!

In my opinion and for the type of riding I like, the route surpasses Sani2C considerably (The only other multi day event I have done out of Gauteng)

Yes, lots of climbing, but the rewards are aplenty. I heard this year, the singletrack content was increased, making the climbing more manageable. For us, as a team, the climbing was to our advantage. Nothing unridable (other than the portage to the top of avalanche on day 3) - Sure it's ridable, but not when it's the last 20m in 1320m of climbing after 40kms for me anyways.

Then the cherry on the koek, is the last couple of kms of day3, simply the best riding I have done in the last couple of years.

The event organization is top class, with nothing lacking. We even had free wifi (for everyone - not only the corporates)

For the price, this event can not be beaten.

5th time doing 3 Towers the past weekend, thankfully we're here until Friday... but I won't go into how good the trails were today, after the little rain we had on the weekend... :P

Mt Carmel, Barry's BT, Beeez...

Thoroughly enjoy the event and will be back. Need to better 2nd in the mixed for the Challenge, winning the last day was awesome!

Partners diesel engine started kicking in only towards the end of each stage, not use to these sprint races... haha :D

Here's to another couple days at Mankele!

Lucky man! I could have done with an extra couple of days there. Congrats on your second place.

We were solid mid packers in vets, and I had about 20 minutes worth of puncture fixing on day2.

Pretty chuffed with only 3 weeks of solid training prior, I was surprised at how enjoyable it was given my lack of training.
