Cape Town to George

Hi,

 

Is there someone that did a ride from Cape Town to George on a MTB preferably on gravel road/single track?

 

Me and 3 friends want to ride from Cape Town to George all along the coast but I'm from JHB and not really familiar with the routes down in the cape.

 

Is there someone that can help me with a GPX file PLEASE, don't want to go through a squatter camp.

Did some touring from Montagu to George over a few different routes, I can recommend routes if you want.

there was a group that cycled from cape town to knysna i think a couple of months back for the childrenshome in Robertson. 

 

Can not remember who it was, but you should be able to find it.

I biked the back roads  with no support about 10  years back

Day 1 Cape Town..well Gordonsbay to  Hermanus (via Clarensdrive)...day 2 hermanus-pearle beach....day 3 Pearle beach to Bredasdorp ,day 4 Bredasdorp to Malgas...rest day ,day 6 Malgas to Vermaaklikheid...Day 7 Vermaklikheid to Vleesbaai.

Vleesbaai to Mosselbay is around  70km.

 

We decided to start at Gordonsbay for safety reasons 

we did Tar until Pearle beach.the tar rd from Hermanus to Pearle beach is scary it's a narrow rd at times with no shoulder .

From Pearle Beach we probally had 95% gravel

if i did it again ...i'd probably do Grabou over Highlandpass -Karwydersraal to hermanus
