Half-ton bakkie and 29er transport

Question for half-ton drivers who ride 29ers... 

 

Does your bike fit in the bin or do you use a bike rack? 

 

If it does fit in the bin, do you have a way of locking it?

FWIW i use a platform bike rack. if its only one bike it goes in the back safely under the canopy with the bike lying on its side
