RABUBI Posted September 14, 2016 Share My Polar died last week. out of warranty a long time ago, so quote to repair is ZAR 1 700. I am now looking at a replacement that comes with Bluetooth interface to smartphone. I really like the look of the polar M400, and have been a loyal Polar customer due to their excellent after sales service. Price incl the HR strap around ZAR 3 500. What other options is there at the same price range?
JScottP Posted September 14, 2016 Share I purchased a TomTom Runner plus heart rate strap about 3 weeks back. You can get the base runner model for R1999 and R800 for the strap, or pay R2499 for the watch with wrist based HR. It syncs perfectly with my phone and laptop when charging. The interaction with the watch works well for me, and I couldn't be happier.
Brandon P Posted September 14, 2016 Share The Polar M400 looks good. You shouldn't pay more than R2995 for it with HR strap.http://www.actiongear.co.za/polar-m400?mc_cid=0da4e9f7a4&mc_eid=ed04e7283c I'm currently looking at the Garmin VivoActive for commuting and the little bit of running I might do. Seems to have all the features I am after and is versatile. The ant+ connectivity enables it to connect to various other sensors and straps.I'm a Garmin fan and currently use the phone app with my Edge1000 which all works very well.R3500 http://www.dionwired.co.za/garmin-vivoactive.html TomToms also good but your workouts are not recognized by Discovery Vitality, if that matters to you.DCrainmaker has a useful comparative tool :http://www.dcrainmaker.com/product-comparison-calculator

I like the idea of the built in HR monitor, reviews all look good.
