Buffelspoort MTB routes.

Hi people, I'm going to Buffelspoort ATKV resort from Monday 3rd October till Friday 7th , are there any mtb routes in the immediate area that one can safely ride solo? Or must I take my pepper spray, gun or knopkierie with [emoji85]?

I have ridden the 100km challenge solo, never felt like I was in any danger. (sam only 2 cyclists that day)

It is after all the home of the magalies monster...Not sure which gates are closed around buffelspoort dam, but from the resort you are close to the breedsnek climb and some other district gravel road. There used to be some nice mtb trials close by, will see if I can find more details.

Tomorrow afternoon 04/10/2016 @ 16:30 planned mtb ride with a guy working here. Will see where the roads take us.

Did a lekker 24km loop today, thanks to Henlo who works at Buffelspoort ATKV resort who showed me one of the less challenging routes today. I must say that the height above sea level really has a contributing factor on the ability to perform when only used to cycle at sea level.

Route involved some tar to get out of the campsite, followed by single track, gravel roads and some tar again to get back home.
