Weekend getaway with lekker trails advice

I've been riding Tranquilitas and surrounding area for the past 4 years without as much as a single incident - from a safety perspective that is  . I mostly ride alone. So from a safety perspective you can't go wrong. The accommodation is nice, especially if you rent the house on the other side of the road, away from the main camp site. Lovely house with great facilities, and very private.

 

All of this, plus the excellent 100+ km trail system (they've added a bunch of new trails lately), and you've pretty much covered your entire list of requirements.

Do you have any suggestions about good trails at WB near Tranquilitas? I found a Strava route but no idea if this trail is still active or any good?

Well-marked trails all around the town. Great little eateries, hand crafted goods, and the best pancakes in SA at the Saturday market. Its close to Hermanus and CT if you feel like a day-trip, and the trails at Wildekrans, Lebanon and Oak Valley is about 45 minutes drive away.

 

Garden route as some has mentioned is a good call.

That route (on Strava) is still active. Part of the current trail system.

 

If you arrive at Tranquilitas, go to the café at the trail head. Talk to Piet, the manager. Ask him for a route guide. Also, all the single track routes are clearly marked. Pretty much impossible to get lost. The new routes (pink and yellow) are not in the route guide, but you'll see them clearly marked. Also a number of exit signs along the route in case you feel like bailing.
