I have always enjoyed this race and route and Saturday was no exception.  When the decision was made to batch the groups together I knew that it was race over for me and I was just going out to enjoy myself.  When this happens it becomes a "hang on till you drop - then finish" race for a lot of the ladies and older guys.  I can understand the frustrations of the guys fighting for podium but considering the weather and registration problems I can live with it.  I am sure these will be ironed out for next time at least the organisers are listening.  I hope that the Comms do as well.

What really bites me is when you pitch for the provincial champs and they combine three batches, all with more than the published minimum numbers for an own start and then expect you to be happy.  Needless to say I won't be at the Gauteng champs.

Probably same comms.

I also enjoyed the race, since I used it for high effort training and knew I would not be racing for podium.

Seems SHAMUS and his team is taking the learnings to heart for a better race next year.  Which means a better timing company, and not bending the rules.  Once you do that, you are dead in the water.
