Cascades MTB Park, Pietermaritzburg

I will be asking a lot of questions along this line and I appreciate any help I can get. I am trying to make sure that the MTB Routes website is up-to-date and accurate.

 

Does anyone know if the Cascades MTB Park in Pietermaritzburg still exists and if so, where can I get information about the trails.

Cascades is alive and well. Routes get closed from time to time due to tree felling. Maybe give Craig a call and GM cycles just across the road from Cascades for more info.

Definitely still alive. Specific routes are cleared/marked prior to any major event but otherwise its make your own way around. 

 

Cascades shopping centre is currently using some of the bottom section as temporary parking whilst they renovate/upgrade the mall so be careful of traffic 

 

A  lot of harvesting took place this year and its given all the trails a very different feel... what once was enclosed by trees may now be open.

lots of trees been felled - and the routes have taken a knock..but they still there - used by runners, cyclists and dog walkers alike
