plane^driver Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 Hi Guys, So I had the miss fortune of having my bike written off the other night, and my Biknd bag! It was on the top of a big trailer, covered with a blanket and to ropes. The one rope came loose and the bike fell off and then got dragged under a truck.... Just waiting on the final verdict from insurance but I need some ideas please! Budget around R60k.... Im really interested in the 2017 Giant TCR Advanced Pro Disc, but stock only arriving next month. Also what are your thoughts on going disc now? Is it still to soon? I must also add Im leaving SA on the 18th November for Australia so could always pick something up there?
Sharkie 2 Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 Go disc do not listen to nay sayers you will not be disappointed. I am biased towards Cannondale so my choice would be a Super Six Evo Ulterga Disc
bikebloke Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 if you leaving so soon only buy something here if you getting an amazing deal .. I would just buy in oz better ranges available better prices no headaches about transporting the bike on planes etc buy whatever floats your boat mate the only consideration is if you race and if you do is your bike rule(uci) compliant ..... you may or may not know this but your SA helmet isn't legal in oz , they have their own weird helmet laws/standard and they stop you and fine you (it really happens) so you may have to get a new helmet that side also
plane^driver Posted November 4, 2016 Author Posted November 4, 2016 Im in Aus for 6 weeks then going to Hong Kong in January permanently.... Buying in Aus does seem like a better option. Interesting about the helmets....
Spirog Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 Have a look at the Swift bikes. I recently bought an Ultravox TI. Amazing frame and I was able to spec every component. And all at a very good price. No, I'm not involved with them. www.swiftcarbon.com/za
Larry King Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 Plenty you can buy in Hong Kong... Deng Fu bikes is down the road
