Corset or Evol aircan

I am considering getting myself the EVOL air can or the vorsprungsuspension's corset air can.

Fox currently don't have stock and only getting in in January if I understand correctly.

Does anyone have experience with the upgrade?

Is it worth it?

Thanks.

I'm waiting for my corset to come over from the U.K. Did a lot of research and this looked well worth it to change up the fox ctd I was running. Large volume cans are the way to go with out a doubt. Either will do well but vorsprung licensed their tech out to fox by all accounts for the evol.

Edit: you will need to run a lot higher pressures in either and that seems to result in having to replace seals more often.

Depending on your bike's leverage ratio and your weight it may or may not be a good thing.

If you are light weight and wanting more plushness in the early part of the suspension stroke so you can run higher pressures for more support in deeper part of the suspension travel, it will help.

I am 90kg in riding kit and my bike came with Float X and the Evol can. I have to run it between 280 and 300 psi (max permissible) just to limit the sag to 30%. I can't get to the 25% sag I would like without exceeding the 300 psi max pressure. My next move will be to fit a bigger volume spacer.

The evol can increases plushness by strongly increasing the effect of 'negative spring' in the early part of the suspension stroke. It allows you to increase midstroke support without losing initial plushness. IMO heavier riders don't really need this as much as lighter ones do.

If you do get a bigger can, be sure to order it with a range of volume spacers. These can be used to adjust the negative spring effect to some extent.

Al the newer models of my bike comes with it. An luckily I am 70kg.

If you have 190 eye to eye and want to swap for a normal fox air can let me know. The Corset air will take 6 weeks if I order. . And at $51Cad for a tracking number is not worth it.

I'm going to try different volume spacers first. And on re reading the manual I see I can go to 350 psi max with the Evol can

I'm curious. I have a fox float x and I run my pressure at about 180psi and get to the 25% sag. I weigh 80 kgs. I have measured it like 50 times to make sure and that's what I get. Perhaps I am measuring this wrong.

If yours does not have the Evol air can that would be about right. 80kg is about 180 pounds weight. Standard FloatX you pump to same psi as your weight in pounds then fine tune from there.

Much higher pressures are normal with the Evol cans. However, mine could be faulty and the gauge on my shock pump might also be inaccurate. It is a RS pump so maybe it doesn't like Fox shocks ????

Shame that is a lot of coin. Maybe try Aramex global shopper first 0,5kg is R195 odd and takes about 3 / 4 days.

I've actually got a 190x51 fox ctd corset but I've bundled it in with the frame I'm selling. Got a couple of people interested in the frame and it should go this weekend, you could always tap them once it's gone and see if they want to sell it.

That would be great! its more the time than the cad price yet it it will be a third of the air can's price just for shipping.
