Hi Hubbers

I am in Cape Town very briefly in December (17-20) before heading to Plett for training.

I am looking for 2 things:

1) A nice long group ride on the morning of Sunday the 18th. I normally ride at a club ride 'A' level.

2) A good long stretch where I can do good 10 minute interval sessions during the week.

I am staying in Green Point but am happy to drive somewhere if need be.

If anybody can reccomend a group ride and a place to do these intervals please let me know :)

Thanks

Hey pal

If you in Green Point i would suggest heading out on Victoria Rd toward Lludadno/Houtbay and you can work your magic there. Mornings will be best

Unfortunately away for the long weekend but hope you come right. Im sure there will be plenty of people out on the road

Enjoy

Cheers

You are perfectly placed to head South.

From greenpoint head South along Victoria through Hout Bay. On to Chappies. Over black hill into Simonstown. Then on to Smits. Back past Ocean View. Then back over Chappies. Into Hout Bay. Over Suikerbossie. Down Victoria and back home.

I'm not 100% sure of the numbers but that should be about 90-100km with about 1500m in vert. And some of the best riding ever.

Suggest you give the chaps at John 'O Connors cycles a call and see if any of them are planning a ride for that Sunday, if you're looking to get a fast group ride. http://www.joccycles.co.za/

You are perfectly based in Green Point. Ride from your place out towards Hout Bay. As you get beyond Bakoven you can start going interval crazy in the run up towards the top of Llandudno. For a longer ride head over the climb into Hout Bay and cycle to the lookout point at the top of Chapman's Peak. You'll have a decent ride of just under 2 hours in ride time and stopping at the Vida in Camps Bay for your post ride drink will be like most people who ride this route!

If you've ever cycled the Argus or CTCT as it's now known you will recognise this stretch! It's very scenic!
