Not often that a crappy article from a crappy journalist with nothing new in it elicits more than 200 reponses (and counting) + some warnings from admin on thehub, and to think you didn't even read half of it.

Ja not sure that we are debating the content of the article as opposed to the choices made by the journo.

But then again, how many people, journo or no journo, make the "right" moral choices these days.

True, it is always easy to make choices in retrospect.

Bit difficult taking a weapon on a local flight to sort out **** in Cape Town.

He is not applying it as a solution, it's his copout on life and actually getting meaningful employment.

Like I said, trash like this needs to be taken out. One at a time. Found, and exterminated, for the betterment of many.

The difference between us is that you see a guy like Norton as the source of the problem and I see him as the symptom of a deeper problem and that is why we talk past each other all day long.

Out of interest, if you didn't know about it. Look up the "Philippines drug war", where your "taking out the trash" philosophy is followed to the letter - basically 6000 "drug dealers" have been murdered by police & vigilantes in 6 months (not even bothering with schlepp like courts) - lets see how that one turns out over time?

My prediction - they will still be taking out trash 6 months from now with no end to the drug problem. Just like you taking out your trash at home doesn't stop more trash from appearing in your trash can every day.
