Ja it could be the rise... Lower means need for a stronger core and back. Shorter stem might only put more weight on ur rear. So you may need to lift the front to get comfortable. Bike fit can usually be tuned to even better suit your comfort.

 

Problem is that most people want to "sit" and ride their bikes. This does not work well to go long distance. I carry my weight 30% on my legs due to pedaling anf split the rest 35/35 on my backside and hands. This allows for 3-4hr rides.

It's the bar ends....

A truth spoken in a jest.

I ride with bar ends. Without them my 700mm handlebar 'feels' to narrow.

The effect (for me) is that I ride with me hands very close or onto the bar ends. Meaning my hands are further apart with bar ends.
