How to determine used frame/bike price?

How do one determine the sale price of used frames/bikes. At present a 2015 frame is advertised used at R 18 000 while a bike shop advertises the same model 2016 frame new for R 16 000 with guarentee. Used frame no gaurentee. Should the used frame not sell for more or less R 10 000?

It appears as if these items stay in classifieds for a long time.

Willing buyer, willing seller principle applies.

List price is an invitation to do business and should be treated as a "before bargaining price" (to borrow a phrase from the Malawians).

If the item takes a long time to sell, the price isnt right...yet

I have seen many things for sale on the Hub for more than the new price. People also don't realise that bikes depreciate at a rate of knots

The price advertised is never the actual price as bargaining takes place. Pe3nguin said it really well.

An older frame may be in demand by certain buyers and willing to pay a premium for it. Also cash offers are very tempting to a seller.
