I need some advice on what cycle computer to put on our new tandem. Can anybody recommend one. What features on a cycle computer is important on a tandem, or does the same apply as to a single bike? smiley25.gif

Shimano Flight deck. This way you don't have to try and look at the gears to see in which gear you are in. BigH will tell you the same.

Cordless one about R1100. Wired one about R600. Remember this thing get's integrated into your brake levers so you never have to take your hands off to flip through the features. It also has virtual cadence. It does not link to your cranks but works out what you cadence should be if you are in such and such gear going at a certain speed. Quite handy if you're going down hill and an uphill is comming. You can quickly shift to get to the cadence you are confortable with before you start the uphill.

I endorse what Mampara says. Be sure to get the one for 10 speed bikes if you have the new ten speed Raleigh. Enjoy!!!!!!!!! You can fit a Cateye (I cannot remember the model) with wired cadence and speed for the stoker. If it does not have long enough cabling for the stoker fit the pickup to the front wheel and the cadence for the capatin. Best place for the cadence magnet is on the downtube from the head tube. If you go Polar 725X remember to have the cadence and speed sensors set for the longer range IHF in Midrand can do it for you. You will need two speed sensors and one cadence sensor.
