Bike Rack for Polo GTI

I am looking for a clip on bike rack that fits a Polo GTi.

I was actually looking at this brand now, as I am also looking for a rack for my GTI... 

 

Is it easy on the paint work?

Have a look @ the Thule Raceway... not your average rack. 

 

Ive had one for some time & am more than happy with it... 

 

PS, its lockable as well

I was actually looking at this brand now, as I am also looking for a rack for my GTI...

It didn't damage paint. But i added old tube just incase. They have a coating over the hook which is supposed to protect it. Phone them and speak to sonja. She was very helpful. I also had doubts so i went there and she let me fit it before i bought it

My main worry is... Can the rack just be stolen off the car?

Have a look @ the Thule Raceway... not your average rack.

The biggest issue with the boot hanging carriers is that you cannot use them if you car has a boot spoiler. Which the GTI does. You'll need a roof rack or towbar.

Fair enough, it worked on the ST, but I have attempted to fit a Thule Freeway to a Polo GTI and the straps pulled the spoiler down. If I had put bike on the rack and the driver drove with the bikes on the back, there is no doubt it would have damaged the spoiler.

Definitely consider the Thule towbar.

 

Had one fitted to the wifes 2015 Polo TSI. Will post pics later.

 

Had a warrantee on the electric windows after the towbar was fitted. No problem. And its not like they couldn't spot it. It was still attached to the car.

 

The bumper had to be cut underneath which I wasn't to happy about. But it was done very professionally. Really no regrets
