Terrible to hear this - condolences to the families and people involved. It will never undo what has happened and it will always be in the back of their minds from that day onwards. So sad.

 

I have a suggestion.

 

There needs to be a counter put on the hub and replicated across all local cycling forums that increments each time a cyclist gets killed or injured in an accident with motorists and reported. Across the whole country.

 

Like a doomsday clock that totals the numbers - I think its far larger than what we imagine and the collective number would sicken us all.

 

Only with that sort of stark reminder can we hope to see changes in behaviour on all sides. This isnt a one sided solution - all people involved need to realize that their actions matter.
