  1. Short exploration on any path or bridle way that I could find. Trying to piece a route together with very little road . Gonna be horrible when the rain comes, not sure I will be able to do it to my bike and wallet . Keep on rolling for now.
  2. Nice podium and on the new gravel bike ? Never had a podium and never will......but have stood on something very similar apparently. Podium / Pedestal 😁
  3. Friday latish one after work with my Minion . The light is fading quickly now though.....winter will be here soon 😶
  4. Shot, can’t live without a gravel bike, congrats to 👌 what did you get ? Tyres are schwalbe G-one RS 45’s . They definitely roll fast and had no issues with them after 400 plus km’s . Am used to running the spez sawtooth , that is one bulletproof tyre. The low pressure those tyres could handle without feeling the rim was nothing short of bloody amazing. Learnt quickly an extra 10 psi needed with the G-One’s . Sawtooth’s are such good value for money, albeit a bit on the heavy side. Never bothered me though. The schwalbe do however have a little more grip. Monster cassette for skinny legs -10/50 .... climb a beanpole 😁
  5. Yeah I know, everything is an adjustment . Damn I do love South African gravel riding . Race to the sea will be a must do next year me thinks.
  6. Eventually got my gravel bike .... took it for a spin today and hopefully do some exploring. Love this bike so much. But even with a few days sun drying things out , it doesn’t resemble anything even close to SA gravel. And if it does, it’s a about a 1km or stretch only . Nothing can replace the gravel riding in SA. Really going to struggle here not having that on my doorstep. It is good however for really crappy little country lanes .... got have a plus side .
  7. After moving home and a month of not a pedal stroke.....2 days in a row felt so good and put me in a different mindset. Never ceases to amaze me what a bicycle does for your psyche and positivity. “Keep on rolling partner you know what time it is “
  8. “Hey! .....been trying to meet you”. Was so stuck in my head after this . 7pm evening ride .
  9. A simple bicycle ride can make complex life changing decisions disappear completely, like magic!
  10. You never regret a ride , or a quick snack break 😁
  11. Late evening ride....23 degrees felt way warmer . Summers are so awesome here on mud island, all 3 days of it. @NotSoBigBen miss those gravel rides mate.
  12. Damn, wish I knew about that . Would of got me out the house .
  13. Every ride is a journey and I take great solace from them right now. The hard yards are just that, have to make them count.
  14. 6pm evening ride .... summers here are absolutely brilliant. Late evening sun and luckily the warmth to go with it at the minute ....not holding my breath. Ride them km’s while the sun shines ! And don't step in the stingy nettles 😶
  15. They are really narrow and it could potentially be dangerous going round sharp bends . The roads only really wide enough for one & half cars. So you hug the hedgerow and hope. To much stop start for my liking as well The roads are quiet though and the scenery is awesome. Still think I prefer a wider open roads like in SA. Plus some of the country lanes aren’t in great condition. Could ride my gravel bike rather .
  16. Late evening 40km exploration. The simplicity of a bicycle and the joy it brings are not measurable . The only way to stay sane when you miss your family so much, and not get tunnel vision.
  17. You may have just sold me . Should be tailwind or kinda at least going that way.
  18. 😂😂 thanks mate for the vote of confidence after I crashed my ass of down sharondale in the ruts 🙈
  19. I have never done that kinda distance ,ever 😂 should be a cracker then.
  20. Just read it gpx files self navigation. I always shy away from those as I am technically challenged.
  21. Definitely a transition,I hope . Sold it with going to mud island in mind . Couldn’t of done that to my Stumpy . Apologies for such foul language on Monday. Got Friday and Monday mixed up 😬
  22. Is it gravel bike doable. Don’t own a mtb at present .
