Rider Down - Westlake

Does anyone have details on the accident that happened in Westlake on Saturday 18th Feb?

 

It was at the end of Westlake Ave, on the Boyes Drive side.

When we rode past, a guy was being stabilized and put into an ambulance.

I don't know if there was a car involved, but a white VW bus was parked just around the corner, with a sizable crowd of cyclists (Cape Town Giants ?) looking on.

 

I hope it was nothing serious and the cyclist was/is OK

Was a lady,friend of mine his wife, she's okay, bike not so okay.

 

As to what happened, lapse in concentration and she went straight into the island, descending high speeds.
