It's just a bike not a flippin high tech jet fighter or something, a hose with some or other soap (sunlight whatever tickles your fancy), If it's really bad degrease the chain and cluster but seriously guys ....

Nope, its the God helps those who helps themselves one. make sure you use degreaser or clean green, no need for prayer.

Jip, and He gave us the common sense to understand that water + metal leads to rust ....

And Snr. gave us Nam Chain Cleaner .. VERY nice degreaser !

just the rear derailure to clean, then the little one's bike is CLEAN and ready for the next trail.

Then to clean mine.

And it took WAY longer to go shop for the degreaser than it is taking to actually clean the bike.

and more importantly - the little one is shown to play hard AND to then take care of his bike

Ps: Why ask for people's advice on cleaning if you are just going to argue with what they propose?

missed the smileys ?

think you have been around long enough to know that any question will get directly opposing answers .....

I DO thank each and every person for taking the time to answer.  Hopefully the next newbie might learn something from this thread.

I know I learnt the world moved on from the days we used parafin to wash chains ....

When you have been here long enough, you no longer see smileys. Just arguments, arguments and carbs.
