Plett to Knysna - MTB

Greetings Hubbers

 

I will be vacationing at Keurbooms this long weekend coming, and have reason to be in Knysna each day in support of my daughter participating in a hockey tournament.

 

I have uploaded some GPX. files for routes between Plett & Knysna but I have some questions I'd appreciate confirmation to :

 

• is a day licence required in the area or will the route be all district road ? I prefer to avoid the N2
• are the routes accessible or gated anywhere ?
• is safety a consideration or factor anywhere along these routes ?
• anyone else in the vicinity over the weekend perhaps for a ride out around Wittedrif etc ?

Curbie there is some great riding right there - cross the bridge over the Keurbooms (from Plett toward PE) immediately turn left - thats it just follow gravel road (up the hill keep right and right and round gate).

 

Just after the petrol station at The Craggs turn left after 4 to 5km there is a forest station with some great riding.

 

Have ridden there without permits - Forestry Dept. not Cape Nature.

You will probably be riding some of the k2c route. As far as I know you do not need a permit.
